After 362 Kilometres over highlands carpeted in heather and lowlands with many lochs we at last find Carlisle! After a few pints, a filling meal and a visit to the train station we are now ready to go our separate ways. We both agree that should the opportunity present itself again that we'd do another Sustrans ride in Great Britain. We have to admit that the success of our ride has been largely due to the outstanding weather that we have experienced.
"See you later Carlisle," says Brian as his train moves away. No doubt Brian will be conjuring up all sorts of stories to share with the Cairns cycling mob when he gets back next week.
