Being a group of one its easy to make decisions! So in consideration of:
- Had a great time catching up with my son, Richard. We spent good days together even though I was a miserable flu ridden mess for three to four days!
- Loved the Spanish. In fact one evening I mentioned to Richard how handsome and elegant the Spanish are and then from the bedroom of a housemate came: "I agree!" It was his Spanish housemate Patricia who is herself a very attractive local public servant!
- Lost a few days through illness.
- Spain does NOT cater for bikes on trains hence I would have been at a loss to get my bike back to Madrid from Seville.
- The Spanish do not drive their cars - they aim them at cyclists! Cycling in Madrid is conspicuous through its absence! Hence meeting other cyclists on a spanish trip would be unlikely.
So with apologies to my Cairns mates, Liz and Jane, (who provided lots of advice on this part of the tour), the Spanish section has been abandoned!
I am now in France at the Mediaeval city of Carcassonne.
So how do you get a bike on trains that dont take bikes? You disguise it as luggage!
Can you see my Surley?
