The latest!

That north wind just didn't shut down. So, after Jerilderie I just headed south and have just ridden into Seymour, booked a cabin, showered and here we are in the local library. There have been some important learnings like:

  • carry enough water! On one hot stretch I just managed to crawl into my destination after using one and a half litres over 40 kilometres. It was 37 degrees celcius at the time!

  • get your seat adjustment just right! enough said!

  • Carlton Draught really is a great beer but it must be served icey cold. (Peter O you were right !)
  • respect the trucks! Drivers generally have done their best to give me room with most moving into the right lane to give me plenty of room. However, when there is a head wind the subsequent blast of air creates a moment of instability.

I've included a few shots above - and I must thank my little tripod for helping me take them.

The first two are the before and after following my arrival at the Wagga Wagga Station. (It took about 90 minutes to get all the bits of bike together. (Lovely friendly staff at the station - most helpful.) The third is an 7:30 AM shot of the River Murray at Tocumwal.
