Meet "Fillis" the One Legged Pheasant! Fillis was injured on a local road and taken to the vet. As a locum was on duty "Fillis" was given pain killers for a decision on whether to put Fillis 'to sleep' when the permanent vet, and owner of the practice returned. This treatment given fortunately required "Fillis" to have the injury treated. The damaged leg was removed and "Fillis" was given time to recuperate. The vet, being a good friend of Carrie Herbert, then needed a home for this little treasure.
So here you see Fillis loving her new place in the magical garden of Carrie's lovely home. Needless to say, she is much loved!
